Product Description

The multi-format AP Reel fits all AP and Paterson developing tanks. It expands to meets those formats by twisting out and locking the centre core if a more substantial film format is needed.

Two ball bearings are integrated near the film guides to prevent backward movement and permit a convenient ratchet-style, automated method of spooling your film when you are in the total darkness of the darkroom.

Heat resistant to 100 degrees C. so easy to clean after use.

"Really like the design of the tabs for loading film onto the reel. Makes life much easier when using a changing bag. You can feel where to load the film and it slides onto the reel smoothly. Also makes loading wider 120 film much less of a fiddle."

"I bought this reel as a spare for my Patterson universal tank. It is completely compatible and the design makes it easier to load than the original Patterson reel. This is my "go to" reel now and particularly for medium format films."

"These reels are good and I have started to use them with my Paterson ones and can find no difference in the way I can load film reliably. For beginners the extra sized 'lead in' tabs are helpful. As with all plastic reels, make sure they are completely dry before use or your film will stick in the spiral grooves (if you are in a hurry to reuse dry with a hair dryer if available). Also, every so often give them a bit of a scrub in normal washing liquid to prevent a build up of chemical residue - seen as dark marks in the groves after perhaps a few months or year of regular use. Good product, no concerns."

"I've never had difficulty using the Paterson reels with 35mm film, but often struggled with 120. These AP reels with the wide entry guides make loading that size of film just as easy as 35mm - if you develop 120 film and are frustrated by other reels, buy one of these."

Delivery
