Product Description

The Fluorescent LIT110 is the head to choose when you want cool, daylight balanced (6400K) lighting. It also offers a slightly higher output than the tungsten lamp and although it costs ?50 this amount is soon amortized by its 6000 hour lamp life and the fact there virtually no heat produced while only consuming 100 watts of electricity. The head is also capable of taking a special softbox which produces beautiful soft light that is ideal for portraiture. The fluorescent head is not capable of taking tungsten or halogen lamps.

Paterson's Daylight Fluorescent Kit (6400K), the LIT111, includes two heads with stands, bulbs, cables and one of two 60 x 80cm softboxes. This is our cheapest cool light studio lighting kit.

"I've had the fluorescent kit for a while now, I didn't want to leave a review before I'd had a chance to put it through its paces properly. On the whole I'm extremely happy with it. I looked at the Interfit and Lastolite kits before settling on the Paterson one. I'm mostly taking animal photos, primarily pets in their homes, so it was important for me to have something that didn't flash, didn't generate a lot of heat and was compact and easy to transport. The Paterson kit seemed to offer all of that and more. The main benefits of the Paterson kit include a sturdy carry bag with ample room for the two lights, soft boxes, stands and more, Bowens fittings on the lights for soft boxes etc., very sturdy air cushioned stands, high output, single bulbs and...most importantly for me...made in the UK. It would be nice to control the output but it's not a big loss. The soft boxes are well designed although they take some figuring out initially to make and dismantle. I'm now looking to buy another lamp as a backup and to use in my hilite. There's plenty of room to fit it into the kit bag. Highly recommended, 5 stars."
