Product Description
When printing your negatives on black and white papers choose resin-coated (or RC) papers and you will achieve rapid drying times and relatively flat drying.
When learning about black and white printing, graded papers are preferable to Multigrade. We stock and recommend the full range of Ilfospeed graded RC paper from Ilford, and as a Professional stockist, you will buy at trade prices.
With Ilfospeed, you get exceptional value without sacrificing quality. It is a high quality, 270/m2 medium weight, versatile paper. A significantly deeper, richer black is possible compared with many alternatives and in a fraction of the time, due to its high-speed sensitive emulsion. We stock the entire range of Ilfospeed sizes and pack quantities available. Choose Pearl surface over Gossy when you feel that you might need to retouch or hand colour your prints.
When buying graded paper then the lowest (grade 2) give the softest contrast whilst the higher grade (grade 3) will give more contrast.
We would suggest that although you can use either of their graded papers with a red safelight, it should be at least one metre from the paper at all times.
We recommend Ilford PQ, Champion Suprol or Fotospeed PD developers when using Ilfospeed graded papers but Multigrade type developers can be used with equal success. However, to get the most out of Multigrade paper, it is the specific Multigrade developer that you should use.
