Our opinion:
Compact System Cameras (CSC) offer DSLR lens interchangeability in a far more compact system.
The size advantage is two fold: firstly, the camera body itself is smaller - and secondly, because it is a mirrorless system, lenses can be placed considerably closer to it the (APS-C size) sensor when compared to DSLRs. This means that high-quality lenses can be made smaller, lighter and therefore also cheaper.
If you already have some EOS lenses, you can attach them to the EOS M200 via an optional Mount Adapter EF-EOS M (see right hand side).
Canon's 5th EOS M model has come a long way from its predecessors. The M200 features more external controls, much faster auto focus (6 times faster than the original EOS M), a tilt touchscreen, Wi-Fi , Bluetooth and a built-in pop-up flash (GN 5).
If that is not enough power for you, an incrediblly light flash has been developed for this camera, the speedlight 90EX, which almost doubles the power output (GN 9) and is available as an optional extra.
Wi-Fi enables you not only to transfer images from the camera, but also to shoot remotely from your smartphone in any location. The Canon app even lets you change camera settings whilst remote shooting, which is not the case with all manufacturers Wi-Fi apps (i.e. Nikon).
When it comes to movies, the EOS 200 lets you shoot full HD at a maximum frame rate of 60fps, taking advantage of that shallow depth of field on a large image sensor.
