This book by Randall Webb and our good friend Martin Reed (of Silverprint fame) is THE definitive guide to old photographic processes. In our view it's a must for darkroom workers or art departments. It is the traditional processes that offer the options to create unique photographic yet artistic images.

Being darkroom-based it includes not only the practical methodology but the ingredients needed to achieve the results.

The alternative processes covered include: paper making, salt printing, albumen, printing-out paper, kallitypes, cyanotypes, platinum and palladium, bromoil, oil, carbon, gum printing, photo etching, photo gravure, silkscreen and bleach etch.

Historical content, artists work, formulary and techniques are all included in this 160 page, spiral bound book. BJP said of the book, 'It's the best alternative process book currently available'. Because we want as many darkroom workers to obtain a copy, we have reduced the cover price by £3.
