"So many customers have asked us for a quick and simple way to digitally convert and archive their old 35mm negatives and slides in the last year - finally we think we have the answer.
Photofix is a 48 bit scanner that copies 35mm negatives or slides (mounted or unmounted). The built-in lightbox allows you to preview the image. The unit incorporates a CMOS sensor that then takes a ""copy"" of the film at a 5 MP resolution (3800 dpi) really quickly - in no more than 2-3 seconds per image.
You then get, using the software included, a JPEG or TIFF image of the original.
The connection is via USB2 (mandatory for power reasons) and the snapshot is held in RAM before review and acceptance. You can also batch process up to 12 images at a time. Then simply confirm, store or print to a maximum A4 size.
Please note: this is not a true film scnner (only a copier) so if high quality film scnning is required we would always recommend the purchase of a dedicated scanner for that purpose e.g. the Nikon Coolscan range.
