What is U3?
U3 is a mobile computing platform that allows you to carry your applications on a USB drive and launch them on any PC. So wherever you go your office or home, an internet café or business center - you can take your favorite software as well as your data files. With U3 technology, a USB drive is more than a storage device - its’ a smart drive.
How do I know which USB drives support U3 technology? Look for USB drives that have the distinctive U3 smart logo.
What do I need to know to use U3 technology? U3 enables you to work on any PC because all of your favorite software is with you on the USB drive. When you arrive at a new PC, just plug in the Cruzer USB smart drive. Opening the U3 Launchpad gives you access to your programs and files, and the ability to manage your U3 programs, from installing to launching to updating.
Will any PC program work on a U3 smart drive?
No. Only PC programs that have been modified to be U3-compatible will work on a U3 smart drive. These programs carry the U3 smart logo.
Can I convert software I already own to be U3-compatible?
No. The publisher of the original software has to modify it to create a version that works on the U3 platform.
What U3 programs are available? Many popular programs are available, including browsers and email, business applications and utilities, photo editors and viewers, VoIP and games and more. More U3 applications are being developed every week.
