To work in the darkroom and perform the art of printing, the first requirement is a safelight.
For a reliable black and white safelight we recommend the 15w Paterson Red/Orange model. Made in the UK, it is designed to stand on a bench, hang on the wall, or suspend from the ceiling. Ready to use with bulb, this mains safelight can be used within a personal darkroom bay or a number together can be used for general lighting on the wall of the darkroom. The replacement bulb is a Pygmy SES 15w.
Remember, 15 watts of light is the maximum for black and white work – colour output should be no more than 5 watts unless using an LED design.
