We often get calls from darkroom printers who find trimming sheets of paper a pain. A ruler with an integrated rotary cutter can do it - and that is what the Kaiser Mini Trimmer is. This clever gadget is a cross between a rotary cutter and a cutting mat. It comes with three heads each housing an exchangeable rotary blade: one for straight cuts, one wavy cuts and the final one for perforated prints. You remove the two extra heads when not in use and the required one runs on a guide bar that attaches firmly to an acrylic ruler with scales and markings. You then place the ruler and the material for cutting on a cutting mat that is part of the set. The cutting mat size is 38 x 10 cm / 15 x 4 inches and the cutting length of the trimmer is approx. 31 cm / 12 inches. Everything then easily packs away in a desk drawer for when the next shortcut arises.
