One of the most difficult tasks to undertake with a digital camera is taking photos of small objects while ensuring your illumination is shadow free and evenly diffused.
On-camera flashguns often lead to over exposure with the typical white-out that follows close-up photography. A slow-sync. Mode will cure the problem by illuminating the background and foreground evenly, but many cameras do not have this feature.
If you are a digital photographer who takes close-up shots on a regular basis like jewellers, philatelists and numismatists (coin collectors), our macro light is an easier solution.
It is designed like a cut-out light box, the idea being to put the objects inside the box rather than on top.
Illumination is from the two inner sides and features cold cathode 5000k daylight lamps each with independent intensity controls. This light source sits on 4-way barn doors (internally painted white) to offer reflection control and being foldable, they collapse to make the light as portable as a paperback book. It even comes with its own case.
