Epson's R2400 promises the best desktop black and white prints and most natural colour - so far.
Using Epson's new UltraChrome K3 8 colour ink set that has three black inks as well as a full set of colours, it gives long lasting true black and white as well as perfect colour quality for professional photographs, fine art work and proofs. The third new black ink - (stupidly called light light black!) - gives you excellent greyscale performance and smoother tonal gradation for the best high quality black and white printing we have ever seen from an inkjet printer. In addition, the use of the Advanced Black White mode in the printer driver enables you to control precisely the tone of your monochrome images.
For colour printing, the wide colour gamut ensures that even the most vibrant saturated reds, greens and blues can be printed. The lighter inks mean that the reproduction of skin tones is unrivalled. You also get remarkably fine detail in the highlight and shadow areas of an image with even, neutral gradation from the lightest to the darkest areas.
With prints lasting 150 years and with 5760 x 1440 dpi, this is the printer for portfolio or exhibition work or producing prints for resale. Connection is by USB 2.0 or FireWire and is suitable for PC from Win 98 and Mac from OS 9.1.
The T59 cartridges cost £8 plus VAT each.
