Our opinion:
This high quality miniDV tape camcorder produces superb crisp and luminous results due to less compression. The colours are so rich - even in low light and the25p cinema mode gives professional movie quality looks to home videos. The HV30 is one of the very few camcorders that offer an advanced accessory shoe, to accommodate external lights and directional external microphones. An improved instant autofocus system sets this model apart from its award winning predecessor, which we use for our own company videos.
If you are worried about the recording media: HDV format is especially suited to editing since it makes it easy to get movies onto a computer. Also, MiniDV tapes are inexpensive compared to media cards and much moe easily available.
