Designed for automatic operation only, the 220EX Flash Unit excels at providing natural-looking balanced flash exposures. The 220EX incorporates the superior technology of Canon's unique E-TTL evaluative pre-stored flash exposure control system, FE Lock for a new dimension of creative control and FP Flash(High Speed Sync) for flash photography up to maximum shutter speed. When used with other EOS cameras, it operates as a TTL auto flash (off-the-film flash metering).
Guide Number is 22m (ISO 100) and recycling time is 0.1 to 4.5 sec. and the flash shooting distance range is from 2 and up to 66 feet.
It is compatible with all EOS cameras. When used with either of these cameras, the E-TTL pre-stored evaluative system used in these flashguns fires a preflash to determine the flash output required. The flashes synchronise3 to all shutter speeds in High-speed Sync mode.
