Lumi Inkodye Metapex Dye Detergent, 0.5 litre

Metapex is a special detergent used to remove unattached excess dye from hand dyed fabrics. It also removes sizing from fabric prior to dyeing. It will allow even colour when used in the dye bath. Its principle use is for use with Lumi Inkodyes to improve the dyeing process or for clean-up after use.

Metapex is also called Synthrapol and pre-washing helps remove impurities that can interfere with the dye and cause uneven dyeing. If used as the after-wash you'll find that it keeps loose dye particles of dye in suspension so they don't stain other areas of the fabric or bleed.

Use 50ml of Synthrapol per full washing machine load for standard fabrics like cotton or rayon and 25ml for more delicate fabrics like silk.

Inkodye is used for photograms, shadow prints, painting, dyeing, silk-screening, batik and more! Works great on cotton, wood, suede, silk and other natural fibers.

Expose your design to sunlight and watch the color appear! It is set permanently once exposed. Wash out unexposed dye in hot soapy water and agitate vigorously.
