Our opinion:

Canon's new PowerShot SX150 IS delivers great value, 14 Megapixels, 12x zoom and HD movies.

Whilst we highly rate Canon's Smart Auto feature (which keeps getting smarter with every new model), it is great that this camera also offers full manual control for creative moments. This makes it an ideal compact camera for schools and colleges, as well as photography students.

The zoom range is brilliant for a camera of this price bracket, ranging from a 28mm wideangle to 336mm telephoto (in 35 mm equivalent terms).

A long 12x zoom combines with a 28mm wide angle lens so you can get close to distant subjects as well as capture panoramic landscapes and fit everyone in group shots. Intelligent IS automatically adjusts the optical Image Stabilizer to the scene from 7 modes to prevent blur and deliver sharp and detailed photos and videos.
