Our opinion:
The outstanding feature of the Nikon CoolPix P500 is it's phenomenal zoom range; from an ultra wide angle (22.5mm) to an incredible 810mm telephoto setting in 35mm equivalent terms. This high zoom range is supported by 7 different ways to combat image blur.
The P500 boasts the latest software technologies, from the convenient and much evolved 'Auto Scene Mode' to Nikon's 'Perfect Portrait' solutions, which even softens skin tones.
It records Full HD movies and has a dedicated movie record button on the back of the camera, allowing you to switch almost instantaneously between taking photos and recording movies.
