Adox, the German distributors behind the revival of Agfa high-quality black and white papers has also launched a new VC RC B&W photographic paper this year.

Manufactured in Germany under the most strict quality control standards, it is a cutting-edge multicontrast paper with four separate emulsions coated together making it a superior paper to many other rivals.

It is the paper to choose when you want high quality results in your everyday printing. The tonal range you can achieve with this paper is simply incredible. It renders neutral to slightly warm tone results depending on developer used but in all cases excellent blacks and a full contrast range of 0 through to 5.5 while being fully compatible with Ilford MG Filters. It can be used under OC or Red safelights.

Available in both Glossy (MCP310) and Semi-Matte/Pearl Surfaces (MCP312) it has been recreated from the old Agfa Multicontrast Premium specification and although slightly more expensive than Ilford you'll not regret paying a premium to have this beloved Premium back.

"I bought Adox paper while I was learning darkroom skills.I thought I'd go for a reputable brand of paper to help cut down on variables,as I expected mistakes to be made first time round. Within only 10 minutes ,after a couple of false starts, I was printing away fine with this paper,almost like I'd had previous experience using it.I took this to be a good omen. The rich black tones with this paper is amazing,warm,with really nice detail that has depth and punch to it. I very rarely feel the need to use filters,as I enjoy the look of it as a grade 2 paper for most of my prints. I will try other papers in the future,but will always use Adox as it worked for me and I love what this paper does for prints. I find the paper also reliable under safelight conditions,as I've left sheets within a foot and closer to my red safelight,with no fogging issues after processing. I highly recommended Adox paper in both the glossy and semi matt versions."
