Our opinion:

The Photoshop family is synonymous with image editing far beyond the normal contrast and brightness adjustments - it allows you to remove, clone, duplicate, repair, distort, slim-down, gradiate, layer, merge ... whatever you think is not quite right with an image, you can fix it in Photoshop/Elements.

Version 10 could be classified as a minor upgrade from its predecessor, with the main improvements being the Orton effect and dynamic text tools. You may also find the new 'find similar' search useful, which lets you select a sunset photo - and then searches for all other sunset photos. Searches have now been extended to object searches; meaning, you no longer need a face.
