Our Opinion:

A good graphic tablet is essential for anyone doing a lot of image editing, as a mouse will not nearly give you the precision, control or funcionality of a brush in a way that a graphic pen can. There are only a few companies that produce graphic tablets - but Wacom is the market leader with a string of awards and firsts to its name.

Intuos5 are Wacom's top-of-the range tablets, designed for the serious amateur and professional user. The Intuous range had a design overhaul in this 5th edition; the old laptop touchstrips have been banished for a jog dial (think iPod), it has become very slim indeed (11.5mm), and the Intuos5 no longer emulates paper sizes (A6, A5, A4) but takes its new proportions from the wider HD format (16:10 aspect ratio)
