Our opinion:

Epson have been the market and technology leaders in photographic quality printers for over a decade now. They produce two printer ranges, the Stylus Photo and the Stylus Photo Pro.

The Epson Stylus Photo Pro 3880 is the cheapest model Pro printer range. Epson Pro printers are individually calibrated during the manufacturing process and use much larger inkjet cartridges, which offer a far better price/value ratio compared to home printers.

The Pro 3880 will replace the hugely successful Epson 3800 which has been the best selling printer in its category for the last three years. So why replace it?

The main improvement of the Pro 3880 is that it features Epson's new K3 a pigment ink set with Vivid Magenta inks. These new inks ensure professional print results and professional permanence ratings, whether you are printing in black-and-white or in colour. The set has reformulated magenta colourants and delivers an exceptionally wide colour gamut with an expanded range of blues and violets.

In fact, Epson make two statements about this printer and ink set combination - and we quote : - 'revolutionized the professional printing industry, redefining what is possible in colour and black-and-white printing' and secondly 'you can expect a look that exceeds what traditional colour and black-and-white silver halide photographs can produce'
