Reala is one of the best print films I have ever used. It is slightly punchier than most portrait films but keeps saturation levels well within the portrait range. It's also incredibly sharp and shows very little grain when enlarged.
I have once taken mother & baby portraits with Reala film and the client insisted on having these images enlarged to an insane size. I remember taking the order into ProLab Dubai, and staff strongly advised me against enlarging a 35mm negative to whatever the biggest enlargement size was then - and between you and me, I was feeling far from easy about it myself. When I picked up the enlargements, Lab staff were singing quite a different tune; how fantastically well the images had enlarged, what beautiful skin tones, how incredibly sharp & showing so little grain. Frankly, I was amazed myself. The only one who 'knew' and had 'told us so' all along was my client.
Joking aside, having used this film extensively and pushed it to the limits, I would holeheartedly recommend it for skintones, as well as reds and greens.
