As black and white specialists, we often get asked for creative films and papers to enrich the art form that only monochrome work can offer.

We like Rollei's IR400 Infrared film. This ISO400 panchromatic film offers true IR sensitisation with very fine grain and capable of reversal processing and is the best value infrared film on the market. Develop with D76 or ID11.

"Rollei Infrared film coupled with an R72 filter shot an ISO 25 gave me great results on a clear sunny day. I would recommend bracketing all shots with this film, and shoot at an ISO that suits your equipment best.. Infrared film is great fun to work with and also a challenge,if you love that surreal effect with black skies and white trees and grass,,this film is for you..,I.R. film can be pretty labour intensive to work with on the first few tries,so experience goes a long way shooting any kind of Infrared film... A stand is also a must when used with an R72 I.R. filter, and if you don't have an I.R. compensation mark on your lens, try sticking too smaller apertures,to reduce any chance of blurred shots. I'm giving this film 4 stars as I think it's great, but not quite as good as the Efke I.R. film, which I find a bit nicer..however,issues I had with Efke forced me into having to stop using it,, as the dimple pattern on my camera film guide came out on my negatives,,so if you have an older camera with such a dimpled back plate/film guide,go for the Rollei instead,,you won't be disappointed."
