The compact and classicly-styled Olympus E-M10 Mark II is a great camera to inspire photographic students. It costs no more than an average DSLR, and its design and controls will be instantly familiar to most new users.

It comes with an excellent digital viewfinder, tilt LCD touchscreen, Wi-Fi, stereo microphone, built-in flash and high shutter speed range. It also has five axis, in-body stabilisation, which means hand held shots give excellent results even using long lenses. It is substantially smaller than a regular SLR.

Creativity is the main offering from the E-M10 Mark II. A unique feature we love is Live Comp where after your first shot, every one after that just collects added light making it so easy for students to see just what the correct exposure should be. Other fresh ideas make light-painting with the cameras super fun, and so easily achieved. If you want to bring your current SLR thinking into the 21st Century with choice and fully loaded options, the all-metal bodied, E-M10 Mark II is our recommendation.

Remember, that when considering Olympus and the world of Micro Four Thirds CSC, lenses are double the equivalent of 35mm thinking. So a 14-42mm supplied as standard is like fitting a 28-85mm lens.
